Auckland Meat Processors Limited is the processing arm of the Wilson Hellaby Limited
group of companies, and is the largest multi-species plant in New Zealand.
Wilson Hellaby and Auckland Meat Processors employ approx 500 staff and operate 52 weeks of the year.
Export Licensed as ME103, Auckland Meat Processors produces meat products under the Hellaby brand. Edible offal, inedible offal and hides are marketed under the AMP brand.
The AMP plant is USDA and EU licensed, and performance-based verification by the NZFSA, which ensures the highest levels of process and quality systems and standards are maintained at all times.
Grading and Quality Mark standards are audited independently by unannounced random inspections. Microbiological testing is independently undertaken by Assure Quality.
Auckland Meat Processors has an in-house compliance team that comprises a Technical Manager, who is a qualified Veterinary Officer, as well as fully trained Quality Assure Officers.
AMP also provides toll processing services for selected customers.

Wilson Hellaby Food Service This stand alone further processing & distribution depot is
near the main facility in Penrose, & has three core components to the business.
The Foodservice Section supplies the HRI trade. Customers include airline caterers, hospitals, armed services and restaurants, along with numerous other food service outlets.
The Curing and Marinating Section further processes significant quantities of product per week under the Hellaby brand for sale in NewZealand supermarkets. Key products include corned silverside, marinated beef striploin, marinated pork loin, pepper and garlic beef roasts.
The processing section produces burger, meatball and other formed products for both the retail trade and QSR customers.

PVL Proteins Limited. This wholly-owned subsidiary located on-site, operates a meat and fish rendering plant producing:
- 10,000 tonnes of meat and bone meal
- 10,000 tonnes of tallow
- 500 tonnes of dried blood
- 500 tonnes of liquified fish nutrients
- 150 tonnes of fish meal
The plant is configured to cope with the raw material of AMP’s different species and has a real focus on environmental compliance, which reflects its situation in a central urban environment.
Mathias International. Established in 1974, Mathias is an international marketer and trader of meat, seafood products, fruit and vegetables.
With a head office in Auckland, it also has offices in Melbourne, London, Buenos Aires and Dalian, and trades with customers in over 60 countries around the world. The investment in Mathias gives Wilson Hellaby an established customer network in export markets.
