LIVESTOCK:
Wilson Hellaby Limited's business is primarily in chilled meats, targeting
supermarkets, butchery's, foodservice, further processors and QSR customers nationwide, and selected export markets.
These customers require consistent quality supply 52 weeks a year,
and as a result, our weekly requirements remain reasonably consistent
throughout the entire year.
Our weekly requirement is for more than 3,000
prime steer and heifer, with a strong preference
for traditional beef breeds.
Understanding the seasonal nature of
livestock supply, our preferred selection
criteria is as follows:
- Prime steer or heifer
- Dressed carcass weight between 180-300 kgs
- P1 or P2 cattle
- pH less than 5.8
- Must be HGP free
- Must qualify for Q mark certification

Our weekly requirement is for
more than 10,000 head of prime
lambs per week, with a preference
for wether and ewe lambs
- our customers do not want
male (ram) lambs once weaned.
Understanding the seasonal nature
of livestock supply, our preferred
selection criteria is as follows:
- Ewe or wether lambs
- Carcass weight between 15-20 kgs
- Y and P grades - however Y grad
must still have a reasonable to
good fat cover over the loin
- Must qualify for Q mark certification
Our weekly requirement is
variable from 1,000 to 5,000 head
of prime butcher ewes per week.

20-30 kgs
Our weekly requirement is for
more than 2500 pigs per week
Our preferred selection criteria is:
- commercially grown pigs
- compliant with all relevant animal
welfare codes
- Our demand covers the full range
of weights
Our weekly requirement is for
more than 500 goat
Our preferred selection criteria is:
- for local trade carcass
7-13 kg
- limited export demand for
13-18 kg
