There is a long and successful history behind the Wilson Hellaby group of companies.
The Hellaby family has been in the meat trade since 1873. Wilson Foods has operated
in the NZ market since 1946.
Wilson Hellaby Limited was formed in 1998 by the merger of Hellaby and Procter Meats & the meat
interests of Wilson Foods.
The Wilson Hellaby group consists of:
- Wilson Hellaby Ltd - operating a livestock procurement division and a wholesale
& export meat & offal sales team
- Auckland Meat Processors (AMP)
- our processing arm is the largest multi-species plant in NZ,
and operates 52 weeks a year
- Wilson Hellaby Food Service - supplies the HRI
(hotel, restaurant, institution) trade, including airline caterers,
hospitals, armed services, major hotels, along with restaurants
and other food service outlets
- PVL Proteins Limited - operates a meat and fish rendering plant
- Mathias International - Wilson Hellaby Ltd has a major shareholding in this international marketer
and trader of meat, seafood products, fruit and vegetables
The companies making up the group have a long and successful history
in the marketplace, their combined businesses making them one of the
largest domestic meat suppliers in NZ. Our beef boning and lamb cutting
rooms in our purpose-built facilities in Otahuhu, Auckland are USDA and
EU licensed, allowing product to be sold both domestically and for export.
